About Bush and public opinion: there´s what I call “dynamic of the bad guy”. Some people just love to hate a negative iconographic character, they need it to define themselves. Mediocre people structure their ideology by what they don´t like. I come from a place called Argentina where that happens a lot. Actually they fucking hate americans so much, and they consume their culture every single day… It´s funny how this love/hate mechanism work.

I’m assuming Kev is going to direct Ranger Danger without Mos on board. I wish Scott would produce and when Scott writes and/or directs, Kev would produce. I don’t know that he’d be interested in doing so, but at least it would be great if they’d stay very involved with each other’s projects.

And I know Kevin doesn’t read these posts (and Scott doesn’t read any) but I’m one frugal son of a bitch and I can’t pay (even only $2) to post on a message board. But the funniest little bit on this SMod (one of the best) was the part about Scott’s dog rolling in shit. I can relate to this very well.
My dog used to take dryer sheets out of the laundry and roll in them to make herself smell like that (I’m assuming). But then she ventured into rubbing in cat shit (THE worst kind of shit) and she’s even rolled in some dog shit. The strangest things she’s rolled in include: carcasses of mice and rabbits, an old, moldy Stouffers lasagna she found across the street, worms, and skunk spray.
I’m no pet psychic but I believe it’s because she wants to smell like these things she’s rubbing in. After all, dogs eat some foul shit, so why not rub in it too? The way Mos described the act of rubbing in the poo was perfect. The dog will kind of press the side of their face on the ground and drag their entire front half across the matter, then tumble in it like a kid in a pile of Autumn leaves. Whenever I see her from afar doing it, the first thing that enters my mind is, “oh no!” More often than not, it’s just some garbage or dirt.

I also have a dog who digs doing that kind of nasty stuff. I used to take him on walks at un-asphalted streets, right? and in my city, we kinda have a country background, it’s not a large place.
so there was this one time when I were walking with it, and it finds a old like cattle PIECE of corpse. it were all dry and brown, and the dog starts sniffing all over it. i let it do it, just because. all of a sudden the dog starts to roll over the thing, as it it just wanted to smell like the piece of rotten meat. kinda weird.
there was this other time when a little dog started chasing us, and play with my dog. and this little dog avances over us and starts eating something like really wildly. when I checked, it was a nasty piece of shit, still wet and all.
the dog seemed to be enjoying quite a lot though.

They should really not talk about politics, especially Kevin, because they really have absolutely no idea what they’re talking about. When Kev and Scott spew random bullshit about Hellen Keller, movies, and other stuff that doesn’t matter it’s funny, but spending half a smodcast making bad jokes about Bush and butchering recent history, politics, and issues is just not entertaining. It’s annoying. I’m no big fan of GW (social conservatives bug me almost as much as Democrats)but I really really don’t want to hear about Kevin Smith’s ignorant, naive political views for half an hour.
Anybody else get annoyed about the last thirty or so minutes or am I alone here?

Perhaps I should have taken the time to phrase my post better. I don’t by any means feel entitled to smodcast. It’s a fun little project that the two of them do to make time to hang out and shoot the shit for an hour or two each week, they can talk about whatever they damn well please. I’m going to download and listen to it regardless of what they talk about because Kev and Scot are both very funny guys.
I’m just venting a little about how I didn’t find the second half of the smodcast interesting or entertaining for the most part. Again, I admit that the last post was a little more bitchy than it should of been, but I was commenting on what I did and did not like about the show. This is a “comments” section created for exactly that purpose.

The part about dogs rolling in carcasses reminded me of my sister’s weiner dog. I was dog-sitting for her a while back and took the dog out to my back yard to “potty”. It had just rained so the ground was kind of soggy. She took a couple steps out, then spotted on the ground a writhing earth worm. She attacked the worm with such ferocity, you would have thought that this worm killed her father. She then proceded to carry its lifless body in her teeth onto the patio, drop it, then roll over it repeatedly.

Terrible Twos: The 10 Worst Movie Sequels on MSN Movies list Clerks 2 as one of the top 10 of all time!! What the hell are they talking about! And of all the terrible part two’s out there they pick on Clerk’s. Clerk’s 2 is a great watch.

D-Vad, Kevin Smith,
Bush was bad and people feel strongly about him because he represented us as a country. His embarrassing bumbling of ideas and language and policy abused us as a country.
Kevin, specifically, he was inept at the job. His ineptitude (Katrina, Iraq, how the war was fought in Afghanistan, the handling of the financial markets that led to where we are now) is not only a deep embarrassment that filtered out across the world but also one that had very real, arguably, violent results. And not just that, you could argue that his administration was indeed out to do bad things financially and money is violence.
Now that said- D-Vad - this is nothing against Republicans. Bush was not a republican nor was his administration. They were loyalists… much like how fascism started in Germany under Hitler. But I think a more apt comparison would be to Soviet Russia- no, not Stalin. More like Kruschev and beyond till Gorby. If you were to read the American propaganda of that time period (available in many comic books) and apply it to America under Bush- secret prisons, loyalty oaths, someone always listening, fear of some persistent enemy… strikingly similar.
The reason people hate him so has very little to do with political bent. He had such a disregard for the responsibility due to us required of that job. He treated us like what he is- a douche.
