SModcast 92

newhead2.jpg

Your TextSModcast is the meandering palaver of a pair of dudes whose voices are so dull, they don’t deserve to be on the radio (and, hence, aren’t). Kevin Smith and Scott Mosier are SModcast. The best thing about SModcast? It don’t cost nothing.

  13. Taryn Says:

oh goodness, my first time listening to smodcast high. this is going to be an awesome night.

  14. Ricky Says:

So strange, I decided to listen to Modest Mouse all day today out of nowhere after months of not hearing them at all. Then the new smod talks about them and intros with it. :)

I’d say this one was the weakest of the ‘birthday 3′ episodes, but that’s not to say it wasn’t funny. You all (Kevin especially) started to sound really tired about mid-way through this one. But any new smod is a great smod, in my eyes.

  15. ben Says:

“i dont know why youre laughing…”

    hahahahhahahahaha

  16. Kyle Says:

  21. Gary Busey Says:

I’m glad it(the new SMod) is here and I’m aware that this will be unpopular, but this was, to me, my second least favorite SMod yet. Second only to the one where Kevin thought it was a good idea to record a SModcast with his daughter. I’m just saying, there’s a reason that you don’t see Jake and I acting together, that’s all. Busey begrudgingly approved, I suppose.

  22. Peter J. Says:

Good call by Malcolm, Eli Roth exudes “dooshiness”.

On the bright side, I’m looking forward to seeing Mike Meyers in another dramatic role. He was GREAT in “54″.

  23. Matt S. Says:

Bono kinda did have the piss taken out of him in Bruno. The lyrics of the song causes him to pause and sideways look at Bruno because they were making fun of what he does or something he cares about. I don’t give credit to Bono as an actor so I don’t believe that he acted that way on purpose.

    (500) Days of Summer is great. Joseph Gordon-Levitt wins again.

  24. Bear is Driving!!!!! Says:

    Smod-eriffic!!!!!

  25. Dan Gallagher Says:

Totally a fan of Mosier’s French Canadian inspector.

  32. Ken Derrick Says:

Does anyone remember which SMod they talked about the TV movie, ‘Trudeau’, with Colm Feore and Polly Shannon? I’d really appreciate it.

  42. John Galt 007 Says:

What’s up with the skip in the conversation 18:14 in to the SMod???

Also, I third the notion of making SMod BB friendly, and not having to import into iTunes and then transfer to my Curve…

  43. kennyca Says:

The Scott, Kevin, Malcolm trio is some of smodcast at its best. I’d love to hear some more Kev and Jen though.

  44. Xander Says:

Did anyone else’ SMod jump slightly at one point about 13 minutes in…?

  45. Cherylann Says:

the lookout was good. saw it on a plane, but not all of it so i had find it. thats how good it was.

  46. Dan Says:

Just listened to the last two smods back to back and loved Ingram destroying Drew Barrymore.
I wish this dude had his own show where he just ranted about celebrities whilst dishing the dirt on them whilst riping them a new one.
    Someone please make this happen

  47. gilafut Says:

    MORE SMOD please

  48. Jamie Wharton Says:

Kev seems to be falling asleep through this one…

  49. Ben Says:

You guys should definitely do more smodcasts about movies and your reviews of them. For those like me (and those obviously posting on this board) who appreciate your movies and value your opinions, I think it would be cool to do reviews every now and then. I recently purchased “A threevening” and it made me go back and watch all the Die Hard movies after your talk about “BWT” and Bruce Willis chicken. Thanks for the smods guys……We appreciate them more than you know!!!

  50. B Matt Says:

    Cool :)

  51. comatosefear Says:

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1321860/

I thought this was interesting seeing as how Kev was talking about Mel Gibson playing practical jokes on Jodie Foster.

    Headline:
Mel Gibson in Jodie Foster’s Beaver

  52. Joche Says:

Common Kev… just tell it you love him

  53. Mrs. D. Says:

Re: the Longevity of Playboy Magazine

I don’t believe it’s in any danger. Those looking for a quick thrill haven’t turned to Playboy in decades. I agree with you on that. It’s just my theory, but even before the internet horny guys (and maybe gals) had other stroke mag choices if that’s what they had in mind. Mags with much racier pics than what Playboy offers. Playboy has continued to thrive because they’re the best damn magazine out there. Their interviews are better than any other periodical. Over the years, Mr. Hefner has been a pioneer on several fronts when it comes to civil rights. The magazine is pro-woman, pro-choice, pro-sex, pro-SAFE-sex, post-racial and just progressive in general. If all you wanna do is jerk off (and hey, that’s a good thing and totally valid,) Playboy may not be your first choice. But it’s surely a good, solid magazine. If it needs saving (and I’m not convinced it does,) we women subscribers will likely be the ones to save it. If a man tells you he reads Playboy for the articles, he’s probably telling the truth. If he says the same about Hustler, well, I’m not buying it. The explanation, anyway. I may still buy the Hustler.

  54. morgan olson Says:

growing up in Kansas where fred phelps would protest (if he ran out of carnival tokens) from time to time just in case there was someone who was homersexual. The local protestant churches were against Playboy and in 1995 the convenience store started selling Playboy. One of the local churches started to boycot the store, going to the Coop for gas and would drive 15 miles to go to a store that did not sell Playboy.(it was not until 2003 the town got a liquor store) I was a friend of the clerk that was there (he was everyones friend) told me that a local Preacher would come in and buy one every month. People found out and the church got rid of him really quickly. the woman who brought the objection to the church council found that her husband had had a subscription for at least 5 years.
I totally agree that Playboy is in big trouble because online hit the little town and overnight i swear everyone got buff forearms. i love pod casts, Malcolm is complex like a 5×5 rubix cube, keep up the great fun.

  55. chuck Says:

Love the ‘casts, but is there any way you guys can normalize the volume levels. I’m fiddling with the volume control like a 12 year old boy’s first time in a girl’s panties. It seems to be a common complaint I have of podcasts, but I tend to expect a little more from someone ‘in da industry’.

And get your ass out to Albuquerque for a Q&A.

  56. Kedzz Says:

iTunes download for this episode aint working, keep getting this message:

    “An unknown error occured (-39)
Please check that the URL is correct and try again”

    WTF?
Can we get this fixed asap please?

  57. Alan Says:

    No new SMod???

I think the sound levels for the most part are really good, except for an occassional “SHECKY!!!” lol…

When is Walt gonna guest host again??? I wanna hear more from that cat…

  58. Zella Says:

My iTunes downloaded it just fine, though I didn’t tell it to download it automatically did.

  59. Bubba3152 Says:

Shamefully, Return of Bruno on my Ipod as well.

  60. amjac1 Says:

“Old, Bitter Kevin Smith” hating on music. A+

  61. The Don Says:

Bang Bus is staged. All the girls are “established” porn “stars.” Don’t be so gullible, Silent Bob.

  62. deestands4dorky Says:

Eli Roth: hot plus geeky… Malcolm, i really don’t see the problem??

  63. satans biscuit Says:

F-U-C-K eli roth, what a piece of shit.
