Week of March 13, 2006

You can take "The Peacemaker," "Deep Impact," and "The Tuxedo." We'll take "Gladiator," "American Beauty" and anything else that didn't suck.

Emilio's 17

Yeah, like he needed all that overpriced crap anyway...

This lawsuit's going to make 'House Party' look like 'House Party Two!'

I told you... don't call me SENIOR!!

Maybe this is all a bad dream too?

Thanks Sharon, but I think I'll wait until this one comes out on DVD (so I can freeze frame of course)

There is absolutely, positively no nepotism in Hollywood. None.

You're good, baby, I'll give you that... but me? I'm magic.

This band will go down like a lead balloon

Well, Goodbye there Children...

They can't sell the Capitol Records building! What will be left to destroy in the next crappy 'end of the world' movie?

Same old Courtney - still sponging off Kurt

Panic on the streets of Austin

You're a fat, Botox faced, wig-wearing ninny! Oh yeah? Well your band has a dirty H addict as a lead singer!

Contributors

Chris Ryall - EDITOR-IN-CHIEF/CHIEF CONTENT PROVIDER
Chris discovered comics at the age of four and stuck with them even through the foil-wrapped covers. He discovered movies soon after and stuck with them even through endless IRON EAGLE sequels, and his passion for music has outlasted hair metal and teen pop. It's only recently that he's channeled this pop-culture obsession into productivity, writing for such venues as Fox Sports, Dick Clark Communications, the Dallas Observer and Music Connection magazine, among others. At the Shoot, Chris is responsible for pleasing Kevin, developing content and corralling the talented staff of freelance contributors. In his day job, he works in marketing in advertising, where he currently writes automotive videos and collateral for a major auto manufacturer. He followed Kevin Costner to Cal State Fullerton, where he majored in business and minored in playing out-of-tune guitar.

Scott Tipton - ASSOCIATE EDITOR/NEWSWRITER/COMICS 101 COLUMNIST
It's all Mego's fault. Scott received Mego Spider-Man and Batman action figures for Christmas when he was four years old, and his parents had no idea what they were getting themselves into. Some twenty-seven years and literally tens of thousands of comics and action figures later, Scott is finding ways to make his particular brand of obsession pay off. In addition to his full-time position as a copy editor, Scott is also communications director and project manager for a thriving toy company that specializes in cartoon-based action figures. Here at Movie Poop Shoot, Scott serves as in-house copy editor and resident grammar nag, and contributes many of the news articles. He holds a degree in English from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and is still looking for a Mego "Green Arrowcar," should anyone feel like hooking him up with a good deal.

Ming Chen - TOKEN WEB GUY
Ming has been wasting time on the web since April 1994 and decided to continue after people started paying him for it. By a huge stroke of luck he was asked by filmmaker Kevin Smith in 1996 to put together and run The View Askewniverse website for his production company View Askew Productions where he now works fulltime. Prior to that, Ming was working over at LivePlanet (Project Greenlight, Push, Nevada) running all things web for taskmasters Ben Affleck and Matt Damon and producers Chris Moore and Sean Bailey.

Michael Dequina - FILM FLAM FLUMMOX
When he wrote a review of the first TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES movie at the age of 13, little did Michael Dequina know that he found his calling. Either that or he was too lazy to try out a different occupation, for he continues to stick to the reviewing thing to this day. In recent years his work has spread like a virus over various Internet outlets, most notably CinemaReview.com, FilmThreat.com, and his own personal venture, The Movie Report/Mr. Brown's Movie Site, which has been clogging both Web and e-mail channels since 1995.

Matt Singer - THE GOOD, THE BAD & THE UGLY
Matt Singer started writing movie reviews over two years ago, when he was invited to write for Internet mag REACTOR. He called his creation "The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly" and since then the column has been featured in The Mad Review and Grayhaven Magazine. When compromising pictures of Matt fell into the hands of Chris Ryall, he gladly agreed to bring the column over to MPS. In his spare time, he also contributes comic reviews and humor columns to PopImage.com. Writing here has taught Matt a valuable lesson: that the glitter cannot overpower the artist.

Michael Sampson - THE BOTTOM OF THINGS
Supreme Emperor Sampson rules his nation with an iron fist, crushing any who dare question his authority. Actually, the nation is his apartment in Jersey and his followers are his wife Amy and 11-month-old son Indiana. And he really has no say in much of anything that goes on there. Michael spent the majority of his childhood in Jersey working a variety of jobs his father insisted would build character. (Mr. Sampson still fails to see how being vomited on while working at Six Flags built any character.) He graduated from Rutgers University in 1999 with a major in Criminal Justice and a liver begging for mercy. While most of the students in his major were off to law school, Michael moved back in with his parents taking a job waiting tables at Ruby Tuesday's. One day, inspired by The Who's "Baba O'Reilly" playing over the restaurant's loudspeakers, Michael put his tray down, tossed his apron on the floor and walked out to the confusion of his Manager and jealousy of his co-workers. Shortly thereafter, he began work as a Planner for a New York City architectural firm. A wedding and a baby later, Michael left the big, scary City to return to Jersey and settle down with the family. Twenty-four years after tumbling out of his mother's birth canal, Michael passes the time as the Senior News Editor for JoBlo.com in addition o performing freelance work for a variety of film and non-film related clients.

Terrence Brady - CGC HALL OF SHAME
Terrence Brady received his BA in film/video production from Loyola University Chicago and has been a collector of comics for nearly 25 years. His website, THIRD MILLENNIUM entertainment, has been online since 1998 and features a variety of info on filmmaking, screenwriting and comic books. His passion for film/writing was inspired by the Silver Age yarns of Lee & Kirby and such modern day tales by Miller & Perez. Other inspirations have been directors Alfred Hitchcock, Chang Cheh and Sergio Leone. While his primary focus is on-line writing and web editing, Terrence continues to work on spec scripts and is currently researching his first book - which concentrates on Hong Kong cinema. Terrence always welcomes correspondence from fellow comic and/or film fans, so drop him a line.

And more to come!
