So Marvel is relaunching Epic, and we've got a bunch of writers and comic type people here, so chances are more than a few of us are thinking of ideas. The question is, what character do you think you'd want to revive, and what would your take be on it?
Personally, I'm hammering out some ideas for Ultimate Spider-Ham. It would be a simple set-up for straight parody, continuity be damned!

If they weren't already inundated with WOODGOD pitches, I'd probably throw them one. So that only leaves my ROCKET RACCOON-meets-ROM, SPACEKNIGHT idea.

Do you think they'd go for a Mid-Atlantic Avengers line? I know that the DelMarVa area has a lot of potential for heroes. There's Chessie, the EcoSerpent. Doverman could help run the team with his ability to buy anything tax-free. Phil A. Delphia could have a gift for losing championships (zing!) and the Jersey Devil would be some guy in a cool costume that knows a good place for cheap eats. Yeah, I shouldn't bother.

Dude,if I could send in something to Epic,it would so be a Scarlet Spider proposal. I would get so much money because, hey, everyone loved the Clone Saga.

Ultimate Human Fly would be huge--see, he's a teenager, and he jumps over, like, cars on his skateboard and stuff.
Do you think we're the only two people here who know who the Human Fly is...?
Nope, I'm an old codger myself. Chuckle.
I'm planning to submit a couple of stories and lettering work myself... I have a dream! In it, I'm naked on a faris wheel... but I digress...

That Spider-Ham thing seems to be all the rage!!
Even Monkey Man knows him:

Thats the problem with so many comics at the moment. Its the recycling of failed heroes. If they failed before they'll fail again. /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif Just ask A.K....
Wow, Epic is making a comeback!?
I remember The Human Fly too... I've got the first issue somewhere...My uncle had given me that one when I was a child. Man, that was a long time ago. /forums/images/icons/smirk.gif
Anyone used to have that ROM action figure back in the eighties? I always wanted one when I was a 'wee lad.

I think Aaron is my favorite poster ever, simply because of the picture he's chosen to go under his name.
Aaron, do you have OLD BROWN EARS IS BACK? It rules.

High praise indeed /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif
I don't own it but I have listened to it.
Can't help but feel cheated everytime you watch a new Muppet movie without a good role for Rowlf, its a damn shame

Well, they retired him because he was so damn close to Henson's own personality that they figured no one could do it correctly. They even made me take him out of my script, but I've heard they're bringing him back.
Did you get the recent action figure of him? It was great, though I wish they had just had him in his "natural state" instead of the tux.

Yeah me too, although they will probably release him in his normal fur after a while.
They constantly release alternates and that seems like an obvious one.
I'm just dreaming of the day when they release a Veterinarian's Hospital DVD
A disc thats gooooone to the dogs

Gahhh, crap! Now I feel like a rip-off artist. Can't claim I didn't read that Monkeymay episode way back, either. Must have just nestled in the back of my brain somewhere, then waited for an embarassing moment to spring out. Like the month where I watched S-Club 7 every day. Nooo! Stop it, brain!
Well, back to the drawing board. Does anyone know if Marvel holds the rights to those Radio Shack TRS-80 comics? Those might be ripe for a revival.
And why can't they step up the Muppet Show DVDs in general?

When I was a little kid (In the 70s) my dad took me to this coffee shop/soda fountain place in my hometown and they had a rack of comic books and he bought me one (for like 35 cents probably) and it was a Human Fly comic, with a special guest apperance by Spider Man. That's all I remember about it.

I had a ROM guy, it was cool at first, but you didn't miss much. Anyone remeber the action figure of the guy who you could see inside his chest? (no, not Slim Goodbody) He had a button on his back that made his blood circulate and his heart beat and lungs expand.

I think Jeff Goldbloom's familiar with him as well.

Ohhhh, fly as in to take flight!
Now the character makes so much more sense, but oddly slightly less interesting. It's like the weird dichodomy of wanting to see Invisible Girl naked.
