View Full Version : "Has been" actors you want back.

I'm watching Conan last night (of course) and its a re-run with Slyvester Stallone. There's nothing else on, so I decide to watch the Sly interview. And man, I had forgotten how much I actually enjoyed Slyvester Stallone! His performances in all the Rocky movies are great, and whenever I catch First Blood on TV his monologue at the end always kills me.

I want him back. In good movies.

Another actor I've wanted to have make a comeback is Kurt Russell. The list of movies I've loved him in is about as long as my arm, mostly the stuff he did with Carpenter. He's such a charming performer, and there is I believe a dearth of actual manly men in cinema today.

So, if either Kurt or Sly is reading this right now, I am volunteering to read your scripts for you. I'll weed out all the Rhinestones and Captain Rons and leave you only with the Cop Lands and Tombstones.

I really like the guy who played the president in Independence Day, although I can not recall his shoot name. I thought that he played an excellent president... and although I never actually catch the show, on the subject of presidents, Martin Sheen plays an excellent president in the 'West Wing'.

His name is Bill Paxton.

EDIT: His name is Bill Pullman.

The Internet Movie Database (http://imdb.com/) has lots of good information about movies.

Rage i'm disappointed in you. Norm kept SNL afloat until he was fired for all his OJ is guilty jokes on Weekend Update. And yes, Dirty Work is a brilliant film. funny as hell, i even liked the first season of his sitcom, until it was "retooled" i thought it was very funny. Go weinerdog, GO!

no it was because Dick Ebersol was friends with OJ and didn't want jokes made at his expense, Norm may have made exec. jokes after that, but it was OJ that was the impatise for his firing.

Also, he said "fuck" during one of the WN dealies, and immediately said, "...and I just lost my job." It was probably one of those things where the higher-ups said he was on his last straw, or he was on his way out, and figured he'd do it anyway.

You are a sad little person with no life, so you come onto our friendly board and piss off all the people here. I am so tired of you. You don't even see how pathetic you are, do you? You call us names and make fun of our movies, and do it all because, what? Your bored? I mean if your that bored go read a book, get a clue, get a life, ANYTHING. I'd be willing to say you were drawn into a fight with RB and the others. However, if you are that sad as to not realize that EVERY message board is hard on newbies, (most are much worse than here) then you do not need to be on any board anywhere. You can say what you want about US but WE enjoy each other. WE come here for a reason other than spite. YOU are just plain mean, and I am done with your bullshit. You know these guys may put you on there ignore list, but I'm your huckleberry. You want a fight. Lets go. If not, SHUT UP AND LEAVE.

Apparently, you didn't get the joke...

And I gotta say, I kind of agree with BAM, dude- you pretty much suck, in my book.

What did you think would happen when you started posting here in the manner that you did, that everyone here would bow down to your opinions and worship you as the new Board God? Maybe start a website called darthjaundikicksass.net? Not likely. Especially when the first thing you did was to go to a thread full of people espousing their love for a movie and promptly begin to crap all over their good time. Besides that, you wander over to other threads, and basically say that if anyone likes a particular movie, they are retarded and have no taste in movies. So now, you're 0 for 2. You then decide to throw all logic out the window and just pick fights with people? Strike 3.

This board tends to be a little xenophobic sometimes- after all, some of us have been here for years, and have seen a LOT of punk-ass fuckbags *cough* come and quickly go. That's YEARS, not days. So think before you post, and you may eventually be welcome here.

For now though, I hope you go. So far, you suck.

Unpopular beliefs and name calling/instigating are completely different. You won't even be civil. All you have to do is stop with the name calling and contribute to the conversation. Read a few of the threads on this goddamned board and you might have an idea. This is the problem we're having with you, you yell and scream and beat your chest, but when someone mentions something that is commonplace on this board, you stop, turn your head like Wicket, and go "huh?". Take your week banning (if you're lucky enough to only have a week by the time Chris sees this), to just browse the boards anonymously and see what is being talked about. You came here and posted in two, maybe three threads, you have no idea what this site is about.

Freedom of speech doesn't include telling people to "lick me where I shit". And don't try and pull some sanctimonious bullshit and attempt to make yourself a martyr for free speech. No one here will weep for you when you're gone.

I was going to say some other things, but there's absolutely no point in it. You've gone past the point of redemption. If I could ban you I would. But I don't imagine you'll be here when I log on tomorrow afternoon because when it comes to pricks like you, this is a dictatorship.

I think this counts as a "has been actor".

From TV Guide online:

UNTAMED HAND: Christian Slater was arrested early Tuesday and charged with third-degree sexual abuse after he allegedly groped a woman's butt on a Manhattan street. The 35-year-old actor — who's currently appearing on Broadway in The Glass Menagerie — faces 60 days in jail if convicted. Meanwhile, it's worth noting that Slater filed for divorce earlier this year from wife Ryan Haddon, so it's not like he was cheating.

So now you get arrested for an ass grab, WTF!?!

Well, technically, any unwanted touching is considered battery, so, yeah, I guess you COULD get arrested for that.

It seems reasonable to me- I certainly don't want strangers grabbing my ass...

How about has been comedians? How about Eddie Murphy returning to spewing f-bombs? The kids movies he's been in are weak. Comedy channel has an opening!

Eddie Murphy is no Dave Chappelle. (But I would like to see him work blue again.)

...groped a woman's butt on a Manhattan street.

I, for one, wouldn't press charges on Christian Slater. ;)
If it was Gary Coleman, however...

Taken from movies.com.

Michael Madsen has spilled the beans about casting for Quentin Tarantino's long-in-the-works World War II drama, Inglorious Bastards. "It's myself and Tim Roth, Adam Sandler, and Eddie Murphy," he told Empire magazine. Roth, Madsen, and Sandler have long been rumored, but the addition of Murphy is a shocker — the master of fart-riddled kiddie comedies picking a serious (and presumably violent) drama? Nutty, professor!

He better not be!!!

I do however, know that the one on the right is being (wo)manhandled by moi in a vain attempt to let him know I was "into" him. Men are so oblivious sometimes

He forgets that I have but to email my mother a link to the message boards, and he will die, slowly and painfully, digested in the pit of her stomach over a thousand years. That's the problem with drunk posting- there's a record of your drunkenness.

By the way, if anyone is a fan of the Star Wars Extended Universe, Boba Fett acutally makes it out of the Sarlacc's (Sarlaac's?) stomach. I just thought it was funny, we were watching Ep. 6 this weekend with a friend of ours, and when Boba Fett gets dropped into the Sarlacc pit, he was like "So that's it for Boba Fett?" I thought that was funny...

Now now, don't go do anything crazy like that... as I've said in quite a few 'drunk' posts: "id be kielled". :D

As for Boba, you're right! He basically kills the Sarlaac and has an affair with the 6-titted dancer from Jabbas Palace.

He detonates his jet pack after several weeks in the pit, crawls out on the sand and is rescued by Dengar and his girlfriend, Manaroo, when they go to scavenge the wreck so Dengar can pay off his medical bills. They nurse him back to health and Fett is the best man at their wedding.

I actually came here just to say that Mickey Rourke made his comeback this year...

That's a nice coat...

It's been too long since I read Tales from JAbbas Palace. I need to brush up on my SW knowledge!
