I don't agree. Either you're going to be respectful or you're not. You can't choose to be respectful when someone can "see" you because it makes you look like a champ, and then ogle and leer when their backs are turned.

It only means he has a different set of standards than you do. I'm not saying that's good or bad, I'm just sayin'.
Yes, the definition is very specific. The common usage stems from the bible (Which, I'm only pointing out because of the word usage, not the belief structure. I'm not Christian.) I, of course, do not know the exact passage, but the topic of hypocrisy came from the idea that often folks would pray in public (or "with their door open") in order to be seen as pius and God loving. The idea was that only a hypocrite would pray with their door open as prayer is truly between the person and God. Their only reason for praying with their "door open" would be to build their image and therefore was actually counterproductive to their spirituality.
The parallel that I am drawing here is that it is hypocritical to judge a person and subsequently call them out when your very actions on any given day are also interpreted as disrespectful in many circles.

My "door" is wide open, Barclay. I got nothing to hide. I talk shit between friends. I talk shit between what I thought were sometimes "buddies", but I never talk shit to a girl. I posted the pic. I thought it was a "gag" at a place where a buttload of women dress "iffy". You wanna take me out on that, I got no defense. Other than that, nevermind. Oh, wait....soooo, what you saying, if I get what your saying, is that there is no reason to be EVER respectful to any woman...because.....it don't work for you? Let your girl take care of herself because she's...uh (i was gonna say "badass")... someone that can. You are entirely too bad-ass for me, brother. Live long, and prosper.

I wonder how her father would have felt about you having a laugh at her expense? It's this, "it's ok for you in the situations that you say it's ok" but not "ok for Zac in the situations that you say it's not ok" bullshit that is pissing me off.
Respect isn't something that people are entitled to. It is something they have to earn and maintain.
I didn't do anything wrong. I was honest, I was forthright and I was assertive. Was I abrasive and brutal? Yup. The world's a tough place.
I'm done on this issue. Completely and utterly done.

You gotta be fuckin' kiddin' me, man. Those girls dress that way because they WANT attention. I didn't do shit to that girl. Hell, to tell the truth, if she, or her dad, saw the pic, they'd probably have a good laugh. And, I never said shit about "it's okay for me, but not for you". The reason I jumped your shit is because you used some words on a 18 year-old girl that weren't cool, in my mind. And, your line about respect being earned is ridiculous. I didn't disrespect that girl. Maybe in your eyes. But, everytime you call a girl a bitch on your show you disrespect all women, if you really wanna get down to it. You can be utterly done as much as you want. I ain't. You were wrong. Pure and simple. Especially, when it comes to one of our "family".

O.k. I am late to this, and don't want to feed any fires, however....

This is what bugs me about internet culture and sometimes this place as well. Now just for argument's sake let's take Amanda out of this picture. I have nothing against her, but I think in this case she is a bit of a red herring.

If we look back at the way this thread has formed in the last few days or even the last week, we get:

1: I don't like your show
2: Why?
1: It's not as good as it used to be.
2: Why?
1: Just isn't.
2: That does not help me and it is hurtful, as I work very hard on my show. I use harsh language to convey my hurt.
3,4,5,etc. Whoa, even though we all like it when you use said harsh language on people we don't know, don't use it on her.

Now the reason I just did the recap, is this: What everyone seems up in arms about is the fact that Zac used the term "Pussy Hurt". I happen to know, as I also am fond of the coarse language, that the word "Pussy" in this case was not meant to convey a vagina, but to infer weakness. Is this a casual form of sexism, sure, however our society accepts it. Just like in this board we refer to a certain small framed Irishman in all sorts of homosexual and feminine terms, and it is accepted.
A lot of the other things said are window dressing. In fact, I just edited out something said earlier that really pissed me off, just because it is distracting. But, that helps me get back to the point.
This is simple, people, if you want to express yourself to another human being, be it a comment on his/her artistic endeavor, or to say "Dude, that language is a little too harsh" for God's sake, don't go off all half cocked and ready for the kill. All that does is get us all genital hurt. This could have all been avoided by more creative use of words.

For example,

"The rants on your show seem to be coming more often, you used to display more creativity in what you chose to rally against. Perhaps you could pick your topics with more care and it would be of greater enjoyment to your audience"

Or

"In this case the person you attacked is a VERY young girl. Perhaps if we want to keep the boards civil, we should be more polite to the younger regulars here"

Do you see how these are more expressive than the fecal matter that we have thrown?

So in final summation. Did Zac use a phrase that the society of this board would wish he wouldn't? It seems so. Even though it is a phrase that I have myself used, I will man up and say "Zac, please for the sake of civility refrain from using terms that use sexual identity for derogatory connotations, thank you."

Was that so fucking hard?

I'm glad I'm not the only one to notice how out of hand that's getting.
Thanks dude!

Oh, also. Yeah this thread has been retarded for the last few days. Good work Daffy on pointing some it's retardedness out.

It wouldn't be so bad if you weren't so cute, sugartits.

In all seriousness I would like to put a moratorium on "Candy Mantelpiece"

Now to be fair Blake, it was one of your comments that really pissed me off. I again, don't want to keep any arguments going. I only say this so we can all stop throwing those stones, because my glass house is taking a beating.

I would also say to you, my friend, let's just drop it. Don't bother asking me what it was or trying to make amends, as I know a bullshit internet flaming war when I see it. I am here with the water and baking soda to put that shit out.

Dude, PLEASE tell me where I stepped out of line. I've met you. You might be the most laid back guy I've ever met. Nothing like me, and Zac. What the fuck do I need to think about. I'm baffled. But, I'm also old.

I tell you what we can do, sir. We can talk at a later date when cooler heads prevail. (see what I did there?) Then we can talk about it in a less public forum where posturing is a part of the discussion and others can gather like flies to a pile of something or other.

In no way did his response involve any of those things. Had it involved those things I'm sure none of this would have happened.

The point was, silly, that people did not express themselves well.

That was pretty obvious I'm over it (aside from the whole respect thing, which I maintain is bullshit.)
