| EYES-NER SAYS ATLANTIS WON'T SINK!
Sirs,
I have been called many things, but for the purposes of this review, you may call me Eyes-Ner.
I just saw a test screening of 'Atlantis', and let me tell you, it blows 'Shrek' out of the water (no pun intended). You want to talk demographics? How about this - 100% favorable across the boards, in every demographic, with 100% definite recommends.
Unlike 'Shrek', this is the animated movie to see this summer, as it has that lush, instantly-recognizable Disney look and feel that has stood as the hallmark of quality family entertainment for over fifty years, as opposed to Dreamworks, which has only been around for the length of a fart, and got lucky a few times (no offense, Steven; I'll work with you any time).
Further proof that 'Atlantis' will demolish 'Shrek' - I hear Disney plans to out-spend Dreamworks on marketing by over thirty million dollars. And with the Disney marketing machine behind an animated film, how can it go wrong (well, except with 'Pocahontas'; I kept telling everybody that whites didn't want to pay seven bucks to be guilted out by some indian broad, singing about the colors of the wind, but did they listen? No)?
The long and short of this "scoop"? Disney will not be mocked. I don't work for them or anything, but I've heard they won't be mocked.
Particularly by some little midget.
'Shrek' is going down. 'Atlantis' rules.
Eyes-Ner
P.S. - The 'Clerks' cartoon sucked. That's why it was dumped by ABC. At least, that's what someone in the know at ABC told me.
